US Mega Millions details & rules

The US Mega Millions holds the record for the second largest Jackpot in the world, sitting at an incredible $1602M.

The main balls and the Mega Ball are drawn from 2 separate barrels. The main barrel contains numbers from 1 to 70, and the Mega Ball barrel numbers from 1 to 24. 5 numbers are drawn from the main barrel, and one Mega Ball is drawn from the Mega Ball barrel.

Since April 2025, every play costs $5 and comes with a multiplier included. The multiplier is randomly assigned when the ticket is bought and multiplies every prize except the Jackpot, so the smallest prize is now $10 and matching all 5 main numbers pays between $2 million and $10 million. The prizes in the table below are before the multiplier.
