Most Common Euro Millions Numbers
Which Euro Millions numbers come up the most? Are some numbers "hot", and are others "due"? We counted every number drawn in all 1,026 draws since 3 January 2017, when the current numbers started. And then we checked whether any of it actually means something. Let's find out!

The most and least common numbers
In Euro Millions, 5 numbers are drawn from 50. So over 1,026 draws, each number should have come up around 103 times. Here's how they actually did.
| Number | Times drawn | Last drawn |
|---|---|---|
| 42 | 124 | 27 October 2026 |
| 17 | 119 | 30 October 2026 |
| 44 | 118 | 23 October 2026 |
| 35 | 117 | 23 October 2026 |
| 29 | 116 | 14 August 2026 |
| 23 | 114 | 13 October 2026 |
| 48 | 114 | 27 October 2026 |
| 10 | 113 | 2 October 2026 |
| 21 | 113 | 27 October 2026 |
| 20 | 111 | 9 October 2026 |
| Number | Times drawn | Last drawn |
|---|---|---|
| 22 | 73 | 16 October 2026 |
| 40 | 85 | 18 August 2026 |
| 43 | 87 | 20 October 2026 |
| 1 | 89 | 11 September 2026 |
| 18 | 91 | 6 October 2026 |
| 4 | 92 | 29 September 2026 |
| 11 | 92 | 25 September 2026 |
| 36 | 92 | 24 July 2026 |
| 6 | 94 | 26 June 2026 |
| 28 | 94 | 15 September 2026 |
Number 42 leads the way with 124 draws, while number 22 has only come up 73 times. That's quite a gap! But before you rush to play 42, hold that thought: we'll see why in a moment.
The most common Lucky Stars
The Lucky Stars are drawn from a separate barrel of 12 numbers. Over 1,026 draws, each should have come up around 171 times.
The most common Lucky Star is 2, drawn 195 times, and the least common is 1, with 152.
Hot and cold numbers
"Hot" numbers are the ones that have come up the most lately, and "cold" numbers are the ones that haven't been drawn for a while. Some players swear by them, either riding the hot streak or betting that a cold number is due.
| Number | Times drawn |
|---|---|
| 35 | 9 |
| 7 | 8 |
| 10 | 8 |
| 37 | 8 |
| 45 | 8 |
| Number | Draws since |
|---|---|
| 6 | 36 |
| 36 | 28 |
| 34 | 25 |
| 26 | 24 |
| 29 | 22 |
Here's the thing though: the balls have no memory. A number that came up three times last month is no more likely to come up tonight, and a number that hasn't been drawn in 36 draws isn't any closer to being "due". Every draw starts from scratch.
The most common pairs
Which two numbers have come up together the most?
| Pair | Times drawn together |
|---|---|
| 2 and 19 | 18 |
| 23 and 32 | 18 |
| 8 and 42 | 17 |
| 10 and 42 | 17 |
| 17 and 28 | 17 |
With 1,225 possible pairs, a few were always going to come up together more often than the rest. Just like the numbers on their own, it's chance at work.
Does any of this mean anything?
Probably not, and we can check! Even with perfectly random balls, some numbers come up more than others. Flip a coin 100 times and you'll rarely get exactly 50 heads. The real question is whether the gaps are bigger than chance alone would produce.
Statisticians answer that with a chi-square test. For the 1,026 draws above, it tells us that perfectly random balls would give a spread at least this uneven 44% of the time. In other words, nothing out of the ordinary: the numbers are just as random as they should be.
The same goes for the Lucky Stars: a spread at least this uneven would happen 18% of the time.
So the most common numbers aren't any more likely to be drawn next, and the least common ones aren't due either. Every combination has exactly the same chance. Want to put that to the test? Play your favourite numbers thousands of times in our Euro Millions simulator, for free.
The numbers that can make a difference
If every number is just as likely to be drawn, does it matter which ones you pick? It does, a little, because of the other players. When you win, you share the prize with everyone else who picked the same numbers. Pick numbers that few other people play, and you would share less.
We can tell which numbers are popular from the winners: when a popular number is drawn, more tickets win. From 1,026 draws, here's what other Euro Millions players pick, and avoid. We explain how this works in should you pick birthday numbers?
| Number | Winners when drawn |
|---|---|
| 47 | 4% fewer than average |
| 46 | 4% fewer than average |
| 36 | 4% fewer than average |
| 48 | 3% fewer than average |
| 50 | 3% fewer than average |
| 41 | 3% fewer than average |
| Number | Winners when drawn |
|---|---|
| 17 | 4% more than average |
| 7 | 3% more than average |
| 12 | 3% more than average |
| 11 | 3% more than average |
| 13 | 3% more than average |
| 10 | 2% more than average |
It won't change your odds of winning, only how much you would win. But if you're going to pick numbers anyway, it's the one thing the data says can actually help!
